Operations Expanded Through 2027

Goliad Technologies Reverses Planned Closure, Extends Mission to Provide Free Technology to Public Charities Through 2027

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Goliad Technologies, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, announced today that it has reversed its decision to cease operations and will continue its mission of providing sophisticated, cost-free technology solutions to public charities. In collaboration with its key partner, the LACR, the organization will extend its operations through July 2027, with a possible renewal to 2029.

The decision to remain operational came after an outpouring of support and concern from a wide range of stakeholders and partners, who highlighted the critical need for Goliad’s unique services. These partners underscored that no other organization offers a comparable level of technical platforms and support at an affordable cost—a void that would leave many public charities without a viable solution.

“Our partners made it clear that Goliad’s sophisticated platforms, which we have always provided for free, are a cornerstone of their operations,” said Samuel Calkin, founder and Executive Director of Goliad Technologies. “It became impossible to walk away from that level of need. The overwhelming response confirmed that our mission is more vital than ever, and we have a responsibility to continue serving those who benefit from our work.”

The press release also includes a note on the organization’s future leadership. Samuel Calkin has announced plans to step down from his day-to-day role in 2027. He will, however, continue to support Goliad’s mission by remaining on the organization’s board if it continues its operations.

Since its founding, Goliad Technologies’ core mission has been to develop and provide technical platforms that benefit society, public charities, and the open-source community. This mission remains at the heart of the organization’s decision to continue its operations.
