Exploring a Path Forward: The Future of Goliad Technologies

Earlier this month, we announced the difficult decision to cease operations in 2025, citing significant challenges related to organizational leadership and stability. However, the overwhelming feedback from our stakeholders, supporters, and partners in response to this announcement has been deeply moving and thought-provoking. Many of you have expressed concerns, offered ideas, and conveyed a desire for Goliad Technologies to find a way to continue its mission.

In light of this response, we are actively investigating alternative options for our organization’s future. This isn’t a decision we take lightly, and any potential path forward will require not just reflection but action—action that involves all of us who care about the mission and values of Goliad Technologies.

The Critical Need for People and Change

At the heart of any plan to continue operations is the need for people. A sustainable future for Goliad Technologies will require dedicated individuals to step into leadership roles and volunteer their time and expertise. Non-profit organizations like ours thrive on the passion and commitment of their supporters. While we have always been grateful for the help we’ve received, it’s clear that moving forward will require a deeper and broader engagement from our community.

Leadership roles are particularly critical. These roles involve not just decision-making but building confidence among stakeholders, ensuring stability, and spearheading strategic initiatives. Beyond leadership, we’ll also need volunteers to support our operations and advocate for our mission.

Additionally, we recognize that our organization must evolve. The issues that have brought us to this crossroads—instability, leadership gaps, and operational challenges—must be addressed head-on. Without meaningful change, no plan for the future can succeed.

Time to Act

While the challenges are significant, we are encouraged by the fact that we still have time to develop a plan. With operations continuing through 2025, we have a window of opportunity to chart a new course. However, time alone is not enough; it must be accompanied by action.

Over the coming months, we will engage with our stakeholders to gather input, identify potential leaders, and explore new strategies for sustainability. This process will require transparency, collaboration, and a willingness to think creatively about what Goliad Technologies could become.

How You Can Help

For those who believe in the mission of Goliad Technologies and want to see it continue, we need your help. Here’s how you can get involved:

  1. Volunteer for Leadership: If you have experience in governance, non-profit management, or strategic planning—or simply a passion for our mission—consider stepping into a leadership role.
  2. Contribute Your Expertise: Whether you’re an expert in fundraising, technology, or operations, your skills can help shape a viable path forward.
  3. Share Your Ideas: We want to hear from you. Your feedback and suggestions can help us identify opportunities and overcome challenges.
  4. Spread the Word: Share our story with others who might be interested in supporting or joining our efforts.

A Shared Responsibility

The future of Goliad Technologies depends not just on the decisions of its current leaders but on the collective efforts of everyone who values its work. If we are to build a stronger, more sustainable organization, it will take all of us working together to make that vision a reality.

This is a pivotal moment for Goliad Technologies. While the road ahead is uncertain, the overwhelming support and engagement we’ve received give us hope that a solution is possible. With time, dedication, and a shared commitment to change, we believe there is a way forward.

We are deeply grateful for your continued support and belief in our mission. Let’s work together to explore what the next chapter of Goliad Technologies might look like. The future is still ours to shape—if we choose to do so.
